Response to prompt (assisted suicide)

I think this topic has very differnt sides. I think if the person is suffering, for example someone who has a really uncureable illness i think its best to not let them suffer, if you really care for that person then it will be ok, not doing it in a violent crime committing act though. It best to let other ppl know also and get their points of view on it. But if the suicide is involving some teen who is just going thru some depression in their lives, its wrong!!! that person needs medical attention and should be watched. Depression is something u can get thru so its not a suicide call. some ppl might view assisted suicide as wrong but in certain situations its ok but in a legal way.

Response to prompt 8 (Thanksgiving)

Thanksgiving in fact has changed dramatically, it's now one of those holidays most spent eating and off to have fun. Some ppl still celebrate it with a peaceful dinner and give thanks but not many ppl care so much about giving thanks now. I think alot of ppl are just anxious to stuff their faces (me included) and go to sleep. people don't really wanna spend it with their family now, its like as if they leave that for christmas. Yes, it would be cool to have thanksgiving like before but now with society nowadays thats hard to do. We can give thanks and gratitude any other day, it doesnt specifically have to be Thanksgiving.

Response to prompt 7 (Influence from the media)

I think music has given me the most impact.. music is very inspirational and sometimes you can relate to stuff it says, sometimes even do what it says, but this sometimes isn't good for some ppl, some lyrics can become dangerous to minds who are easily manipulated. NOT EVERYONE SHOULD DO WHAT MUSIC SAYS. To me music has given me some ideas on how i should live life, for example be happy and let the days just play out instead of planning day by day. sometimes music has cheered me up when i am down, its helped me when i need to relax, thats why i think music to me is more impacting and influential.

Response to prompt 6 (music)

i dont think you should put a label on someone just because of the specific music that they enjoy. it would be very prejudice and you wouldn't like it if it was done to you. I personally love all types of music, and the particular music i enjoy doesnt really make me who i am. music is indeed a big part of my life. i cant go a day without it. i like rap and hip hop but that doesnt make me ignorant or evil, punk music doesnt make me a "i wanna party and dont care" person, country music doesnt make me a hillbilly.. these are really just stereotypes and labels that people place on others just because they like these certain types of music. you dont actually know someone until you actually get to know them. you may not have the same taste in music as your friends or family but you must have something that you love about them.

Response to prompt 5 (should we meat?)

I think everyone has a right to eat what they desire. if you want tofurkey, go for it! if you want turkey, go for it! for a girl who doesn't really eat turkey on thanksgiving, the fact that my mother usually makes a Spanish dish, turkey is really every other two years. meat was put on the earth to eat, so i have no problem eating meat, i do have friends who are vegetarians and i respect that and in no way try changing them, they ahve in fact one time try making me, but it didnt work. everyone should really just enjoy what they desire and not be bothered with it :)

Response to prompt 4 (movies vs violence)

I think depending on the type of person watching a violent movie can react violent. if you have some crazy person watching movies that involve killing, torture, rape, or abduction then yea you have someone getting influenced to do things like that, the movie will be encouraging it more. Not only with psycho people but sometimes younger children watch things in movies and on tv and that makes them want to do it too. sometimes parents do have to watch what their kids watch. tv and movies from back when i was growing up was way different from what they show now. not always is it the parents fault, because no matter how much they watch their children, they always have access to things at school, on the web, friends, etc.

response to prompt 3 (success)

successful to me means having the ability to have luxuries and privileges, as well as happiness in life. its just not always about money, cars and homes. i think in order to actually be successful u need to be happy with whats going on with ur life, u need to be happy with ur job, happy marriage (or happily single) happy with family, good health and having fun. having no huge problems is the main thing. luzuries and privileges come along with all that. i think that some of my family and friends are more successful than others but in the end i think if ur happy with how ur living then ur successful.
